Before I met Eric I didn’t eat steak very often – maybe at a restaurant occasionally. But Eric, being the master griller he is, has turned me into a bit of a steak “snob.” When we lived on the East Coast we had a few places where we could get dry-aged steak. If you like steak, but you’ve never had “dry-aged” steak – you are totally missing out. But since we’ve moved, we haven’t found any place near us that sells it. Recently Eric has considered a DIY approach to dry aging. If you have any knowledge on the topic of DIY dry-aging – please (please!) comment below.
Our DIY modern patio table is still holding up quite well! We gave it some refinishing love this year and I finally broke down and purchased some outdoor dining chairs from Article. Eventually, I’ll build a bench as well, but in the meantime, I’m obsessing over the chairs!
We picked our first garden tomato the other day! I’m slowly trying to become a master tomato gardener. This year we used red landscape fabric to help with the weeds. There’s also some evidence that the red color will increase our harvest. In addition, I’ve been trying to keep up with pinching off the “suckers”. And I know I’m not the only one that loves the smell of tomato leaves!
I’ve been looking for a buffet for our dining room ever since we moved in. I was on the verge of making one when I came across a gorgeous mid century piece on Craigslist. We almost didn’t get it (we were second in line), but when we did I was soooo pumped. As we were loading it into our car, I saw “MADE IN DENMARK” stamped on the bottom. Eric is usually the one who snags the amazing Craigslist finds, but not this time! I’m in the process of restoring it and can’t wait to show it off!
